6 Amazing Animal Facts #3


Did you know that...

  1. Giraffes have special blood vessels? When they bend over to drink water, those vessels prevent them from fainting because all the blood doesn't go to their head.
  2. Peregrin falcons are the fastest animals in the world?
  3. The black mamba is the fastest snake in the world?
  4. Some frogs can be poisonous? An example is the poison dart frog. The poison dart frog is covered in venomous mucus.
  5. Pigs are smarter than dogs? Make way for Babe, Lassie!
  6. Vultures can see carcasses on the ground from an altitude of 3,000 feet.
Also, last issue I asked a question: What are animals with pouches, such as kangaroos and opossums called? One person responded.

The answer to the last question is: Marsupials

She's right! Marsupials typically live in hot places like Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia, but we do have some here in the United States, such as the opossum.

Next issue's question is.... True or False? The whale shark is a fish.
